Position Overview

The Applications Systems Analyst, Financial Systems provides system support for the firm’s Financial Management System and related applications. This role is responsible for End User Support, managing system configuration, optimization, and integrations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as subject matter expert to troubleshoot and solve complex financial system and production issues.
  • Contribute to the overall health of the financial system, this includes:
    • assisting with daily monitoring;
    • reviewing system and application logs;
    • verifying the completion of Elite 3E daily scheduled jobs for reporting metrics and notifications;
    • capacity planning; and
    • identifying areas for performance optimization.
  • Liaise with the Financial Services team to provide technical guidance in the implementation of various financial systems and applications. Develop and maintain system and process documentation.
  • Provide second-level support and assist in maintaining consistent system and configuration standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members in IS and Finance as needed to resolve issues and escalate to vendors as required.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to better utilize existing financial systems and make recommendations as required.
  • Facilitate quality assurance testing and application deployment.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as required.
  • Provide backup support to other members of the Application Support team.

Attributes & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Technology or equivalent experience to successfully complete the essential requirements of the role.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience supporting and administering financial related solutions, such as Elite 3E and Intapp Time, is preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of Finance related processes and procedures within a legal environment, including those related to Billing, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, and Time Entry.
  • Proficient with SQL and a MS Server environment.
  • Strong client service orientation combined with the ability to manage multiple client needs at the same time.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization with tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule and complete concurrent tasks and projects within tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment; exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Sound judgment including the ability to deal with confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot and provide user support.
  • Innovative approach to work, consistently looks at ways of upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.

Additional information

This position is part of our hybrid work model with 4 days in the office per week. As part of our onboarding, new hires are required to be in the office more often for the first few months of employment to ensure they receive the requisite cross training.
